A church called Portico…
Why the name Portico? Some of the first followers of Jesus gathered in the portico of Solomon, who was one of the ancient Jewish kings. A portico is a fancy name for a covered porch supported by columns. In ancient Greek and Rome they served as entry ways into buildings and temples. They had no walls and often became places of gathering and thoughtful conversation about life, spirituality, and the way of things. We want Portico Church to be a place where many conversations like this take place.
Beginning in January, the Portico community will be slowly working our way through Paul's letter to the Ephesians. It's a letter of encouragement, instruction and challenge in what it means to follow Jesus.
There's a lot for us to consider, but each individual week will have it's own unique focus. So it's okay to check things out at any time. We hope you'll join us in the journey!

What to expect if you come…
We have about an hour-long worship gathering with good music, a relevant message based on the bible, and a number of creative elements. For those who want to try something different, we even have an 'artspace' where you can paint or draw during worship…if that's your thing. There's a great program for K-5th grade kids, childcare for infants/toddlers activities for pre-schoolers. Dress is pretty casual, so just dress comfortably.
And don't forget to stick around when our worship gathering is over! We have time for people to connect and get to know one another over coffee and snacks. We also have a special gift for new visitors! (Bonus...)
